I'm very happy to be back at Guaranty Broadcasting and with New Country 100.7 The Tiger. I started broadcasting in 1986 as a Traffic Reporter for Baton Rouge radio stations. From flying in an airplane above the city to becoming office manager just 2 years later. I also worked on 100.7FM before when it was Rock and located in Catfish Town in Downtown Baton Rouge. I then went to WFMF and worked evenings for a short while before I got the call to join KAJUN 103.3 where they named me "Sugarlips." Rumor had it that Reba McEntire gave me that name but the true story is that a lady kissed me on the lips after I ate a doughnut and she called me Sugarlips. As much as I tried to get away from that name it just stuck. After being on 103.3 for 8 years, I decided to get out of radio for a couple of months. In 2000, I joined Guaranty Broadcasting as a Sales Executive. After just 1 year, I was asked to build a radio station in Hammond and call it Kajun 107. I spent 9 years there and just recently left to join New Country 100.7 The Tiger. I've tried to get out of radio twice but came right back because I feel radio is in my blood. I also worked as Play-by-play announcer for Southern football and basketball for 8 years. I have a son named Tristan and I still live in Hammond. I love playing golf and covering sporting events from LSU to the Saints. That's why I feel at home at New Country 100.7 The Tiger because we cover both at Guaranty Broadcasting.
