New research suggests that people are more likely to trust legal advice given by ChatGPT over advice given by a real lawyer. 288 people were given legal advice and asked which suggestion they would act on. When people didn’t know whether the advice came from a lawyer or AI, they tended to pick the AI-generated advice. “We’ll also need to improve AI literacy so that the public is better able to critically assess content,” researchers wrote in “The Conversation.” “When people are better able to recognize AI they’ll be able to make more informed decisions.” (Study Finds)
