A recent survey of 2,000 Americans, including 1,000 who have cared for seniors, found that 53% of respondents who haven’t officially been caregivers still take on caregiving responsibilities. Tasks include running errands (21%), providing emotional support (18%), and visiting regularly (16%). The survey, conducted by Talker Research for Comfort Keepers, revealed that 74% believe everyone will become a caregiver for a senior at some point. While some view caregiving as burdensome, 74% of caregivers find it rewarding. Many caregivers also discovered surprising facts about those they care for, including hidden talents and adventurous pasts. (Talkerresearch)
