Torrential rains caused flash flooding in northern West Virginia, killing 4 people, including a 3-year-old child. Several people are still missing, and authorities are assessing damage to roads, bridges, and infrastructure. This comes at the same time heavy rains in San Antonio have also resulted in 13 deaths, with all missing persons found. (CBS News)
Two men were struck by lightning while attempting to summit Torreys Peak in Colorado. Rescuers used a helicopter to evacuate the more seriously injured man from 14,200 feet, believed to be the highest helicopter rescue in Colorado. The other man was less seriously hurt and was rescued later. (ABC News)
Rain dampened President Trump’s celebration of the U.S. Army’s 250th birthday, with a parade of thousands of troops, 150 vehicles, and 50 aircraft.
