The U.S. military has developed plans for potential new strikes against Iran as President Donald Trump considers his next steps in the ongoing conflict.

CNN reported on October 26 that American forces in the Middle East could begin major military operations within 96 hours of receiving presidential authorization. However, no final decision to launch additional attacks has been announced.

The military options reportedly include strikes on Iranian military facilities, nuclear sites, and energy infrastructure. Officials are also assessing the possibility of retaliation against American personnel and installations across the region.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has reportedly encouraged further military action, although his office disputes aspects of the accounts surrounding discussions with Washington.

The situation comes ahead of the November 3 U.S. midterm elections. Trump previously indicated that he would not authorize new attacks before Election Day.

Meanwhile, concerns about regional security have prompted discussions about reducing American diplomatic personnel in certain locations.

For now, military preparations remain separate from any presidential decision to proceed with additional strikes.
