A new survey reveals 50% of drivers have “hidden” in their vehicles to find peace away from family and colleagues. The study of 2,000 motorists found 77% enjoy “car time”—staying in their vehicles five minutes or longer. Participants admitted hiding from partners (13%), children (12%), and in-laws (8%). About 35% use errands as excuses for alone time. Drivers average 13 minutes of car time, with parents spending 14 minutes versus nine for non-parents. Two-thirds view their vehicle as the “perfect” unwinding spot. Summer sees the highest car time usage at 18%, while 52% find winter driving more stressful. (Story URL)
